People who are into vaping are generally looking for the biggest, brightest and highest tech vaping device there is. At least, this used to be the case. With the legalization of cannabis across the United States for medical and recreational purposes, people are now able to use cannabis-infused vaporizers (don’t get them mixed up with electronic cigarettes/e-cigarettes), in public places. Due to this, many are now looking for a more convenient and compact/discreet way to consume cannabis.
Recycling in The Cannabis Industry
One type of vape pen that is convenient, compact and discreet are disposable vape pens. While many pens are already compact, disposable vape pens don’t require any charging or maintenance. They come with preset doses and with enough battery life to consume every drop of cannabis within the pen, unlike other vape pens that need to be recharged via USB and refilled with vape oil.
Disposable vape pens are environmental footprint friendly, even though they are ‘disposal’. When a product is disposable, we are quick to think that the product has adverse effects on the environment, but this is not the case here. When you are finished with your disposal pen, many shops and brands give you the option to take your empty vape pen to the shop/vendor where they dispose of them correctly while also giving you some sort of perk for your efforts in helping the plant. Disposable pens are generally high in quality, have anti-leak technology, provide a cleaner burn (heating element) and are energy efficient. For short-term use, they are cost-effective, making them affordable for just about everyone. As a result, they can be considered impulse purchases. In some stats in the USA, these pens are legal for both recreational and medical purposes. However, in Canada, they can only be used for medical purposes. As a medicine, these vape pens provide very safe and manageable doses.
One brand that has created a disposable vape pen is known as dosist, (previously known as hmbldt). They were voted ‘One of Time Magazine’s Top 25 Inventions of 2016’. dosist (which is a clever little name seeing as it is the Greek word for dose) has 6 different formulas. Each formula contains different benefits, depending on the Calm by dosist which was formulated to help treat anxiety. It has a higher amount of CBD oil (making it CBD rich) than THC.
There are two sizes of pens by dosist to choose from, the 200 doses and the 50 doses. I have used the 50. What I loved about it was that there was no maintenance, no adding oil, and no buttons to press. It was always ready to go, on the go. No buttons? How does that work you say? Just directly inhale, and wait until the pen vibrates. This is an indication that you have taken the perfect amount of cannabis, to reduce the symptoms of anxiety. Within seconds, I was, calm and panic attack free.
With these disposable pens increasing in popularity, it’s no wonder that there is a range of other brands fighting to create the best one. I found Calm by dosis to be a great starter pack for beginners. The majority of dosist’s formulas are very high in THC and they have fewer CBD dominant formulas, so if you don’t want to get high, these are the better option. Needless to say, the CBD dominant formulas do contain THC, so if smoked regularly in a short period of time, you will start to feel the effects of the THC. I am hoping to try the other formulas dosist have created, such as bliss by dosist andSleep by dosist which I will eventually review later in the New Year. I’m also thinking about trying other forms of disposable pens so I can give accurate comparisons and to find out which ones I think are best.
